Popular Paralympic sport wheelchair rugby took over Morningside Arena in Leicester this February as some of the best teams in the world arrived to compete in the 2020 King Power Wheelchair Rugby Quad Nations tournament.
Australia (Gold medal winners in Rio 2016), Great Britain (European Champions) and the USA (past Paralympic Gold medalists in 2000 and 2008) took part in the three day event as they geared up for the Paralympics in Tokyo later this year.
The third edition of the Quad Nations competition featured the potential medalists for Tokyo 2020 with the action and the results indicating that the contests in Japan will be extremely close.
On day one the USA overcame Great Britain by one point after the fourth period of overtime. Our photographer, Mehul Patel, was capturing this match and you can see some of the action by clicking on the image below. You can also download and license these images for editorial use.
During the second days' play Great Britain suffered another one point overtime loss this time to Australia, but recovered on the final day to power through to the final after beating Australia in the last play-off match. The USA proved strong again in the final and lifted the Quad Nations trophy for the second time in three years after beating Great Britain 53-42.
